In 1896, a woman named Mary Lynch died in a Philadelphia asylum and her remains were used to bind books. In this short performative lecture, interwoven with poems based on Mary’s case files, award-winning poet Lindsay Tuggle re-imagines Mary’s body as host to a haunted dialogue between body and soul, doctor and patient, past and present.
