Sugar Magnolia Wilson is a Wellington-based poet originally from the Far North region of New Zealand. She has had work published in various online and print journals both in New Zealand and internationally. Her chapbook and art object, Pen Pal, was published by Pip Adam and Emma Barnes of Cats and Spaghetti Press in 2013. She is also co-editor of Sweet Mammalian, along with Wellington poets Morgan Bach and Hannah Mettner. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Because a Woman’s Heart is like a Needle at the Bottom of the Ocean, was published with AUP in March this year. She is currently co-editing a canon-redefining anthology of new New Zealand poetry with poet Gregory Kan, which will be launched in 2020.
